I was SO excited to go to Disney World. Mark had never been before so we just decided to go for one day to see if he liked it (and we would pay for a second day if we wanted to). We did the Disney Volunteer program and after donating some items to United Way we got our free tickets.
I had a plan of attack, had marked the rides I REALLY wanted to go on and found the best route through the park (plus made dinner reservations at the Liberty Tavern). We got there to watch the opening ceremonies and finished the last ride 5 minutes before the fireworks show.
Favorite picture of the blog:

This is the first time Mark went on any type of roller coaster ride. This is the first thing we did when we got in the park. We got on the train and went to Frontier Land. Didn't have to wait in line (thank goodness because Mark may have chickened out). Here is the resulting picture. I am having the time of my life, Mark looks scared to death. Note the little blonde girl in the seat behind us...

Entrance to the park. We got here at about 8:20 to 8:30...no lines and parked very close to the entrance.

Me on the ferry boat. It was a little chilly that morning but there was no humidity and the sun was shining the whole day!

First glimpse of the castle!

Mark on the ferry boat. Note the "volunt-ear" button we got.

A picture of a ferry boat that looked like the one we were on.

Opening ceremonies. (I had never gotten to the park in CA early enough to see it)

Mark took this picture as we were walking into the park.

Mark standing in line AFTER Splash Mountain waiting to go on the Thunder Mountain roller coaster.

A nice German couple who spoke very little English took this picture of us. This was the outside of the Thunder Mountain ride.

After we went on those two rides (and my make up was smeaing as water was being splashed on me during Splash Mountain) I realized that I had not gotten any pictures in front of the castle and wanted to do that before I became all sweaty from the day's activities. We hopped back on the train...

just in time for one of the parades going down Main Street. It was great!

The Mad Hatter's encouraging everyone to celebrate and dance.

I'm not sure if this is Chip or Dale...

My favorite picture of Mark in front of the castle...

Me in front of the castle...

Love this one of the two of us!

Great pictures! Looks like you had a lot of fun. I took a photo in that exact spot on my 21st bday at the Magic Kingdom whilst Ang and I were interns there.
Aloha! Glad you had a great time in Florida! Thank you for putting on your playlist of my uncle, Israel Kamakawiwo'ole. Thank you for keeping my favorite anakala memory live on!
