After we went to Disney World we decided to go to Clearwater Beach in Tampa the next day (Saturday). I was up nearly 24 hours on Friday, but that's all part of being a tourist. . We got up early to go to Disneyworld and when I got home I hung out at Angie's house until 5:30am!! I had a blast but was SO tired.
I LOVED Clearwater beach!! If only it was warmer the day we went. The sand felt great on my feet. It was white and literally had the texture of sifted flour. We got there just before the activities started during the daily "Sunsets at Pier 60" activities.

On our way to the beach we passed the First "The Original" Hooters restaurant. (Kind of like the first KFC restaurant in Salt Lake City). On our way home we stopped to eat. We went inside and put our name on the list. It felt creepy in there. I was the only woman there under 60, and the wait was over 30 minutes. We ended up going to Crabby Joe's instead(it was gross).

First view of the Gulf of Mexico. I LOVE the ocean!!

Some of the items they had set up for kids...

Me posing by the turtle. Look at how white the sand is!!

Mark by the turtle.

Mark looks cute in this pic. It was fun to go walking along the seashore picking up shells and getting our feet wet. I wish we could have gone swimming but I think the water was only 45-50 degrees.

On the beach hanging out, watching the ocean. I LOVED the smell, the sounds, the sand, and the company.

View of the beach from the pier.

Sunset on the pier.

Sunset from the beach. As we were getting ready to leave we saw a groom and a bride coming toward the parking lot. It would have been very romantic to get married on the beach during the sunset. That would have been my second choice (but thankfully we got married in the temple instead).

I just spent a week right near Clearwater (Bellaire Beach) and we went to Pier 60 too. I can't believe how cold it was too! There was an ice cream shop at the end of the pier and even though it was cold, I stood in line. The couple of teens in front of me got their ice creams and tried to pay with a credit card. The cashier stated "the credit card machine was down" and requested cash payment. The both started licking the ice cream and replied "we have no cash, only credit card". They got the $12.00 cones for free! Hysterical! I couldn't stop laughing!
Have fun in Florida (I hear its getting warmer!)
